New Year countdown concert in Beijing, FLH challenges ‘Shuang Jie Gun’ [ January 3rd, 2009 ] Posted in » FRH: Concert, FRH: Tour

Fahrenheit will be holding a countdown concert at Beijing Capital Indoor Stadium on 31 December. Yesterday the four members revealed that besides singing their own oldies, they will see a Fahrenheit version of ‘Shuang Jie Gun’ (Nunchaku) and their seniors S.H.E songs on that day.

Fahrenheit is constantly working hard to break the image of being ‘Flower Boys’, hence in the third album ‘Loving More and More’, they added in rock feel for the first time in their song. At the concert this time, Fahrenheit will restructure a rock band, Jiro Wang will play the guitar, Wu Zun will show his drums skills, Aaron Yan plays the piano, and Calvin Chen performs B-BOX.

Fahrenheit revealed that they will sing their new song at the concert, but the concrete new song to be sung is still kept under secret. As for the other songs, Fahrenheit said that most of the songs will be songs which fans like in the previous albums, it can also be counted as a reviewing and combing themselves after debuting for three years. Besides, Fahrenheit also plans to perform a Fahrenheit version of ‘Shuang Jie Gun’ (Nunchaku) and their seniors S.H.E songs at the countdown concert.

Yesterday, the stereoscopic effect chart of the concert stage was officially revealed. The organizer invested a huge amount of money to make a rectangular stage which is 45m long and 15m wide. Besides the four LED colour panels above the stage, the stage floor is also put together by super large LED colour panels.

translator note : ‘Shuang Jie Gun’ is a song written and sung by Jay Chou. well, in my opinion i feel that the song is difficult to sing due to the rap part. in case u dont know how the song sounds, you can listen it here: http://hk.youtube.com/watch?v=GpeXGFWnJSQ

Fahrenheit easily makes others jealous

It had been just 3 years since Fahrenheit made their debut but others might need to work for 10 years to achieve the number of fans and popularity they have. Heng, what do they based it on? Isn’t it just because of the handsome face? Erm… only half right, Fahrenheit also based on what they know – they know that they are so handsome until their talents will be suspected, so they work hard to enrich themselves, if not you think the injuries every member suffered is the effects of make-up?

Those who are not convinced will be even not convince, putting words like ‘don’t get along, ‘gay’ on them, but the strong wall that Fahrenheit had build became even stronger after braving the storm. It’s not easy to sow discord among them, if you want to do so also have to wait until Fahrenheit is about to disband to do it. Also, cannot say that Fahrenheit don’t get along with each other, if not Aaron Yan will get angry.

Warm Spring, Calvin Chen don’t want to be an empty bottle

Calvin Chen represents warm spring, has the highest qualification among the four of them, graduate from Canada’s University of Victoria with a masters degree in Economics. He was once an assistant professor in a university, because he got the champion in the ‘Sunshine Boyz’ competition organised by Comic Productions Co. and Canada television station he signed a contract with Comic Productions Co. However he had a tiff with his father because of him joining the entertainment industry. Maybe because he graduated from Economics, he is especially sensitive with economics, to avoid being stuck in financial crisis while waiting for chances to act; he became an English teacher at the tuition centre.

Calvin Chen once said, “I don’t want my fans to support an empty bottle.” After hearing it he mumbled to himself, “When did I say it before? Erm…. I did say something which means similar before.”

Without doubt, everyone knows Fahrenheit because of their face and killer smile, but, how long can the road of idol group be? The smart Calvin Chen of course knows the answer.

“Many fans know and like us because of our looks, but the concert this time round is a good opportunity to let us show what we are, we request from the company to let us do some special performance, don’t want to just dress nicely to sing then go down the stage. Hence everyone can see a distinct concert theme; every member has the chance to perform their talent.”

From said, does he mean that there are empty bottles in the entertainment industry? He hasn’t got the chance to answer, Mr. Jiro Wang who was sitting beside him immediately explained for him, “Not this meaning la! Just that in the entertainment industry, many people like you immediately because of your looks, but most important is that you show your talent.”

This moment, Aaron Yan used the prettiest bottle, Lin Zhilin as the example. “Like me, I admire Lin Zhilin, because she is pretty everyone take note of her looks and not her talent. Once at the press conference of ‘Red Cliff’ she was asked if she was a vase, she displayed high EQ and her answer won the respects of many, I feel that this is the most important thing about artistes.”

Jiro Wang curiously asked what did Zhilin answered. Aaron Yan only answered, “I forgotten.” The scene became a bit funny.

Burning hot Summer, Jiro Wang’s every step is winding

Calvin Chen represents warm, Jiro Wang represents the burning hot Summer, is the most ‘local’ Taiwan boy among the four. Due to his heavy family burden, Jiro Wang had to work many jobs, he worked tough jobs like moving metal and worked as waiter, model, and often had to sell things until midnight. Even though now Fahrenheit is famous in many countries, but Jiro Wang still limit himself to spend only RM570 per month to help clear the debts of the family.

However, compared to the other members who had gone abroad to study, Jiro Wang did not lose out. His bright laughter, bright smile is proof of his confidence. The debut of Jiro Wang might be more winding compared to the other three, but he believes that God will take care of those who work hard.

“I made a debut earlier than the rest, maybe the dream plan wasn’t that smooth, but it became a stepping stone for me and also let me move on steadily, cherish the things that I have more. However I have more experiences, also more resistant to stress. Although my route is winding but every step is worth it.”

Maybe because only child are more afraid of loneliness, Jiro Wang found the feeling of home in Fahrenheit, and he didn’t change his personality of liking to joke around. He described Fahrenheit as his ‘girlfriend’, reporter would like to use Taiwan accent to say something: Jiro Wang~~~, you are not afraid that there might be ‘rumours’?

Cooling Autumn, Wu Zun don’t let himself to be bullied

Calvin Chen represents warm, Wu Zun represents the cooling Autumn, is the oldest among the four, compared to the rest he is more mature when it comes to treating people and handling matters, the thing that lets people have the deepest impression is his temper when he did not get to eat. However, until now no one had really seen him throwing his temper.

Will Wu Zun really get angry because he did not have things to eat? He, who had been sitting smiled and said, “No la! Just that sometimes they say that they are going to a certain place then because they can’t find a reason to persuade me then they won’t go, I’ll get angry. However, its not really angry too! Just that I feel why change your mind after deciding on something?”

Just like Mum telling you that she will be buying you ice-cream but in the end was not able to fulfil the promise because the ice-cream was sold out. You really can’t imagine the tall-build Wu Zun will throw tempers because of the ‘adults’ decision, no wonder people say that sometimes a man is just a little boy.

To Wu Zun, what other people say and write is not important, 9 years without sex life and gay is what he always says and topics that he does not avoid. “I’m more optimistic, have to be happy.”

When is the time that Wu Zun really got angry? “The time that I really got angry was when I was studying in Australia, that time I was playing basketball, a foreign labourer kept saying words that was not too nice to me, he looks down on Chinese people, and I got into a fight with him. I don’t like to be bullied, and his looks was not pleasing to my eyes.”

The reporter asked: In the end who was injured more severely? After hearing Wu Zun’s answer, then realised that I really belittled this ‘little boy’ before me. “He? After a punch he fell to the ground, he did not hit me.” Oh! That image is really too ‘intense’, no wonder Aaron Yan who was at a side can’t help saying, “So you are so fit now.”

Cool Winter, Aaron Yan feels hurt after losing friends

Calvin Chen represents warm, Aaron Yan represents the cool winter, is the youngest among the four, when Wu Zun said that he will not get angry with untruth reports, Aaron Yan already start to admit, “His character might not get angry, I have the possibility.”

Recently, Aaron Yan was rumoured to be gay after being discovered to be going out with a member of Lollipop, after which he vent his unhappiness on his blog, and said that he won’t go out in future and won’t practice dance. Is Aaron Yan EQ very low? The assistant who was sitting at a side immediately jumped out and said its because of Aaron Yan’s age hence its like this.

“I feel that this incident in the end cause a lot of my friends to not dare to go out with me, they will say to me, “I don’t want to be shoot by the camera.” After going out together more often, some untruth reports will come out, causing me to lose a lot of friends. I care more about my friends, some who are more familiar and can have a lot to talk about have started to keep a distance from me now, this makes me lose more and very hurt.”

Aaron Yan said he will definitely get angry if people say that Fahrenheit don’t get along, “They keep saying, hence at one of the press conference I said angrily, “Stop writing that we don’t get along!” If its not real, don’t keep adding on us, does everyone really hope that we don’t get along? I like this group Fahrenheit, I want to protect it, don’t wish for anyone to hurt it.”

Aaron Yan was very serious when he said it, but the comical Jiro Wang acted to be crying and hugged Aaron Yan. Hey, there is still someone around alright?

Wu Chun Does Not Regret Postponing One Year of School for Love

The tragically beautiful story of Liang Shan-bo and Zhu Ying-tai who sacrificed their lives and turned into butterflies for love was a classic. In [Butterfly Lovers], the scholar Liang Shan-bo was reincarnated into the heroic Liang Zhong-shan and reunited with Zhu Yan-zhi, the reincarnation of Zhu Ying-tai. Together they fought heroically against destiny for their love. Wu Chun who portrayed Liang Zhong-shan indicated that he also was someone that would be willing to sacrifice everything for love because he did not want to leave any regret in his dreams. He also encouraged others to be brave in fighting for the person they love.[/font]

[I don’t like doing things half-way in anything because I don’t want to have any regret in my life. That’s why I would give my all in everything that I do. {Including love relationships?} Relationships? Of course, of course, certainly.]

As a student, Wu Chun had a similarly unforgettable relationship, like [The Lovers] who wanted to be together but were bounded by destiny and could not be together. Even although they were not able to be together in the end, Wu Chun still did not have any regrets. [One time, I had to go to Australia to study. At that time, I just met this girl and was together with her for two, three months. We were very much in love. Because I have to study abroad…and then I came back within a month because I couldn’t stand it anymore. So I postponed school for a year. But I feel that love like this is actually pretty painful, because we wanted to love but could not love. We wanted to be together but couldn’t be together because of school. However, in the end, I still went back. That’s why I said that I am the type that would fight for it.]

The story of Liang Shan-bo and Zhu Ying-tai had been made into movies numerous times already, with [The Lovers] starring Nicky Wu and Charlie Yeung being considered a classic. Could [Butterfly Lovers] become another classic? To Wu Chun, that was not an important point. What he cared about was the message behind the story.

[Actually I feel that every 10 years or so, there would a story about [The Lovers]. I thought that was pretty good because like me, before I didn’t know very much about the story of [The Lovers]. Perhaps the younger generation is less likely to understand it, so we would film another version, so that these young people would have a deeper impression of this story. I feel that our version is not quite the same as the previous ones. The story of fighting for love is actually a pretty strong story. The expectation is not to have any regrets in life; if you like it, you should fight for it. I also hoped that those who have seen this movie would treasure the people around them more. Like it, then fight for it.]

The theme song [Heart Like Butterfly Dancing] was originally intended as a duet. In the end because the record companies were not able to come to an agreement, it ended up as a solo song for Charlene Choi (Ah Sa), which left Wu Chun somewhat regretful.

[Actually in the song, there were some dialogs spoken by me. The duet could not be arranged because at that time, there were a lot of issues, then there was also the problem of our schedules. So in the end we just add some dialog into it so that the song would have more of our feelings in it. Of course, it would have been the best if I was able to sing it but what do you do? Maybe next time. Maybe try to fight for it when there is a chance for us to collaborate again.]

His baby face with flawless features gave him an advantage over the multitude of artists and an extension of time in “maintaining freshness”. Wu Chun who is 29 this year and about to enter his 30th year does not resist continuing to act in idol dramas or mind singing cute songs. Even though [Sour-Sweet], the earlier collaboration between FRH and S.H.E was criticized by fans as a kiddie song, it is OK with Wu Chun.

[I feel that in idol drama, if you can portray the character as being younger convincingly, that’s OK. I feel that’s alright, it’s nothing. As long as you are not required to play a teenage student, that’s alright. There are many people close to 30 and are still acting in idol dramas. As long as the role is suitable, the audience accepts the character, then that’s OK. Actually the duets we sang with S.H.E, like [Xin Wo], are happier and more energetic, the type of songs young people like. I don’t think there is anything wrong with that because this type of song allows people to have a happy feeling, like the feeling one has as a child.]

Meeting the challenge

The members of Taiwanese boy band Fahrenheit may be nursing injuries but they promise fans a rollicking good time at their Nov 15 concert
by Sharyn Yap

(from left) Chen, Yan, Wu and Wang of Fahrenheit.

JIRO Wang of Taiwanese boy band Fahrenheit had his fans worried when he arrived in a wheelchair for a press conference in Kuala Lumpur recently.

The band, comprising Wang, Wu Zun, Aaron Yan and Calvin Chen, was in town to plug its upcoming concert in Malaysia as part of The Fahrenheit Fantasy World Tour.

When the tour kicked off in Hongkong at the end of last month, all four sustained injuries of one kind or another.

But there’s nothing to worry about as Wang quickly put worries to rest by managing to walk up onto the stage under his own steam, saying that it was only to give his injured foot plenty of rest.

“At the moment, the less I use the leg, the better it would recover. And when the concert comes around, I would be able to give my fans a better performance.”

Although doctors have advised him to rest, Wang said he was unable to do that.

“Holding this concert tour is our dream. Especially since it has only just taken off, I can’t stop now. I want to have a perfect concert tour. Afterwards, I can have all the rest I need.”

Fortunately, doctors said his injury could sustain for another two months or so without problems.

“I’m still young, so, okay-lah.”

So far, it is all systems go for their Malaysian concert. The boys are prepared to wow their fans with six different image changes ranging from the futuristic to the comic and Broadway, as well as showing off their individual skills with Wu on the drums, Wang on the guitar, Yan at the piano and Chen on the beat box.

They are also planning a big surprise finale and a rocking party for all. But they stop short of baring it all, with the boys saying maybe just their backs or in open vests.

Fans at their Hongkong concert were apparently disappointed that the boys did not show off their bods. But Yan explained that would be impossible.

“Well, we do have this white outfit and after sweating a bit, it could be rather revealing,” chipped in Wu mischievously.

As for a guest artiste, the boys said they have not decided yet though Wu’s father might appear as an honoured guest among the audience.

“He attended our Hongkong concert and I see no reason why he wouldn’t come for the Malaysian bash as well,” Wu said. It appears his father has now become his biggest fan.

Besides preparing for their concert dates, Wu has also been busy doing promotions for his movie, Butterfly Lovers, in which he co-stars with Hongkong’s Charlene Choi. As such, he has hardly been home these days.

“I have only been in Taiwan for one day the past month,” he said. “Even my birthday (Oct 10) was spent in another country. When we get back to Taiwan after the concert tour and have the time, I will definitely collect [my presents] from [my teammates].”

Although it has been a tiring period, Wu said with promotional activities for the movie now over, he would be concentrating on his music.

First stop – the Malaysian concert date on Nov 15, at the National Stadium, Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur, followed by Singapore; and China, Japan, Korea and Thailand next year.

The Fahrenheit Fantasy World Tour Live in Malaysia is organised by Big Events. Tickets are priced at RM388, RM348, RM248, RM178, RM148, RM128 and RM88 (including RM3 Axcess fee). For details, call 03-7711 5000 or log on to www.axcess.com.my.

Fahrenheit Concert – For Shanghai’s Enjoyment Only

On November 22, Taiwanese pop group Fahrenheit will bring their [Fantasy] concert to Hongkou Soccer Stadium in Shanghai. This will be their only stop in China.

The sales of the concert tickets were explosive. Yesterday according to news from the organizers, ticket sales had surpassed $2M within only one week. Tickets for the concerts in Hong Kong, Hangzhou and Nanjing were similarly grabbed up by fans.

Although only been on the scene for three years, the speed in which Fahrenheit achieved their popularity equaled that of F4 years ago. Before this, this reporter had witnessed in the two times that they came to Shanghai for autograph sessions, although the event that did not start until evening, there were fans lining up in waiting since early morning. The spectacle of the six men deep line-up indicated their utmost popularity among idol pop groups in recent years. This September, Fahrenheit’s first time concert in Hong Kong was also astonishing. 20,000 tickets were sold within the first two hours of tickets going on sale.

This time, in the 25,000 seat HongKou Soccer Stadium, Fahrenheit will hold their first large-scale concert in Shanghai. In order to achieve the closest proximity possible with fans, they came up with the idea of having the stage set in a T-shape. After planning with the organizers and the stadium officials, the stage included a T-shape overbridge that extended 20 meters into the audience. To this, the four of them jokingly said that to be at such close proximity with the audience was also a sign of confidence in their live performance. From understanding, the Shanghai concert will start off with the four dressed as space warriors, complete with stage props and laser effects to present visually an extremely futuristic feel. Later, they will then change into aviation outfits in keeping with the theme of the songs and in a suspending platform, will rise up into the air 5 stories high to perform some challenging moves.

In order to break through the image of being a “vase”, all four practiced diligently on their chosen musical instruments: Wu Chun on drums, Arron Yan on piano, Jiro Wang with both electric and acoustic guitar and Calvin Chan with his beat-box skills, will one by one be presented to their fans. The whole performance will be 2 ½ hours. Fahrenheit indicated: [We have waited three years for this concert. Hopefully everyone there will join us in realizing our dream.]

According to the organizers, this concert is different from the earlier extremely popular [Fahrenheit - S.H.E Concert Tour] sponsored by a certain product. The November 22 performance in Shanghai this time will be a concert that belongs solely to Fahrenheit and not a joint performance. The stage, style, song and performance will be similar to the Hong Kong concert in September. As for the guest performers being S.H.E, Fahrenheit indicated that inviting them was because , “Of all the people under consideration, they are our best friends and working partners.”
