New Year countdown concert in Beijing, FLH challenges ‘Shuang Jie Gun’

Fahrenheit will be holding a countdown concert at Beijing Capital Indoor Stadium on 31 December. Yesterday the four members revealed that besides singing their own oldies, they will see a Fahrenheit version of ‘Shuang Jie Gun’ (Nunchaku) and their seniors S.H.E songs on that day.

Fahrenheit is constantly working hard to break the image of being ‘Flower Boys’, hence in the third album ‘Loving More and More’, they added in rock feel for the first time in their song. At the concert this time, Fahrenheit will restructure a rock band, Jiro Wang will play the guitar, Wu Zun will show his drums skills, Aaron Yan plays the piano, and Calvin Chen performs B-BOX.

Fahrenheit revealed that they will sing their new song at the concert, but the concrete new song to be sung is still kept under secret. As for the other songs, Fahrenheit said that most of the songs will be songs which fans like in the previous albums, it can also be counted as a reviewing and combing themselves after debuting for three years. Besides, Fahrenheit also plans to perform a Fahrenheit version of ‘Shuang Jie Gun’ (Nunchaku) and their seniors S.H.E songs at the countdown concert.

Yesterday, the stereoscopic effect chart of the concert stage was officially revealed. The organizer invested a huge amount of money to make a rectangular stage which is 45m long and 15m wide. Besides the four LED colour panels above the stage, the stage floor is also put together by super large LED colour panels.

translator note : ‘Shuang Jie Gun’ is a song written and sung by Jay Chou. well, in my opinion i feel that the song is difficult to sing due to the rap part. in case u dont know how the song sounds, you can listen it here: http://hk.youtube.com/watch?v=GpeXGFWnJSQ

This Christmas is going to be sizzling hot

SINGAPORE: Promising a musical extravaganza, Taiwanese boyband Fahrenheit is bringing an early Christmas present to fans with their first ever Singapore concert this December.

Singapore is the second leg of Fahrenheit’s “Fantasy World Tour”, after a leg injury suffered by band member Jiro forced a postponement of the concert in Malaysia and Shanghai. The pop group had kicked off their “Fantasy World Tour” in Hong Kong on September 26, with a two-day gig.

The dashing foursome are a trio for now as Jiro, who is suffering from a torn knee ligament, was still missing in action when the group was in town recently to promote their concert.

However, fans who are worried that Jiro’s injury will lead to changes in the concert have nothing to fear.

In a video recording screened at the press conference, Jiro, looking energetic and upbeat, said he will definitely be in Singapore for their concert as scheduled. In the meantime, he will be following the doctor’s advice to avoid strenuous exercises and concentrate on physiotherapy.

The other three members assure fans that Jiro’s injury will not affect the quality of the concert, and dance routines will go on as planned.

The band comprising Calvin, Jiro, Wu Zun and Aaron made their debut in 2006 and to date, have two Mandarin albums under their belt.

Describing what each of them brings to the group, Calvin said: “Jiro is very dynamic, and shines whenever he is on stage.

“Wu Zhun is the responsible, serious one in the group. He is a good example to us, and guides us along…while Aaron is very intense onstage and will always seek perfection.

“As for me, I’m the one who will encourage them!”

As for the upcoming concerts, fans are in for a treat as the quartet will offer something to fantasize about.

Wu Zhun coyly suggested that the audience may get to see more of them, literally, during the concert.

“Before going on stage, I’ll be very nervous but once I get on stage, I’ll transform into another person and may do surprising things - things that I’m also not aware of,” he replied when asked if they will be showing off their well-built physiques, which should raise the Singapore heat by a few notches.

The group also promised to entertain with different themes at their upcoming concert and say fans may be surprised by their new hairdos, which were lurking underneath the caps they were sporting.

What’s really special though will be the lighting effects and spectacular stage that will allow fans to experience some up close and personal interaction with the quartet.

Other than performing their usual hits, Fahrenheit plans to incorporate elements of Broadway into the show and unreleased songs from their upcoming album.

As for all the critics who question Fahrenheit’s singing abilities, this is what the group has to say.

“We are constantly improving and now that our vocal teachers know we are holding a concert, they have been especially tough on us,” Aaron said.

Calvin added, “We’ve been putting in a lot of effort and time on the concert, which is very important to us… And I would give us 100 marks for all our efforts.”

In an interview with xin.sg, the group said: “The concert is a chance to show what we have learnt throughout these three years.

“It is an opportunity for us to share our joys and achievement…and appreciation to our fans.”

Fahrenheit’s “Fantasy World Tour” runs on December 19 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. Tickets are available at SISTIC.

FRH concert prosponed, Jiro’s leg injury=excuse

Fahrenheit China concert prosponed, takes Jiro’s leg injury as excuse

Fahrenheit was suppose to hold a “Fantasy” concert in Shanghai on the 22nd, but at the beginning of the month, it suddenly got cut, it was rumored that because they just finished 6 rounds of “MengNiu Yogurt Drink” councert together with S.H.E, causing “fighting among themselves” affecting the ticket selling, but HIM denies, expressing that the concert is “prosponed” and not “cancelled”, and the prosponing is to let Jiro’s injured right knee to have enough time to rest.

According to other celebrities, the main reason for the Fahrenheit concert to be cut is because the “MengNiu” concerts in the past were too close in time, causing conflict for the ticket selling rate, but HIM manager denies, emphasizing that the concert prosponing to next April 11th is due to Jiro’s leg injury, the audience who has already bought the tickets could still use the tickets for entrance. Just that the “Fantasy” concert in the next month on the 19th will still be held at Singapore, why would this concert be held successfully? HIM states that within the 6 weeks of time, Jiro can heal his injury.

Aaron accompanies visit to hospital

Wether the prosponing of Fahrenheit’s Shanghai concert is due to the poor ticket selling rate or Jiro’s need to rest, he actually did pay for a subsequent visit to the Orthopedics at the University of Taiwan Hospital, also once a “passerbyer”, due to leg injury and having to go through surgeries, Aaron accompanies along. According to what we know, the water gathering in Jiro’s right knee has became worse, the doctor kept suggesting him to consider going through operation, but after thinking carefully, once he have surgery, all of his work would have to be stopped, currently he is taking medicine, and a good amount of rest to control his injury condition.

Currently his workload is reduced compared to the past 2 months, mainly because at the end of the year/early next year, they will debut their new album, at the hospital that day, he first went with Aaron to the hair salon to get their new look, and also making the 2’s new hair color and haircut for the new album become exposed.

Fahrenheit – Regarding Concerts

On that morning, I was late. By the time I rushed to the hotel, I was 10 minutes late for the appointment. Immediately I followed the promotion staff to a “closed” room in the twenty-something floor while feeling very apologetic for keeping four handsome guys waiting.

I waited for a while but they did not appear. The promotion staff said to wait a little longer. Later, after approximately another 20 minutes, we received a phone call informing us of a change in plans. The four handsome guys decided to pack up first, so that later as soon as they finish the interview, they would be able to leave right away for the Autograph session scheduled at 12 noon at Fong Yong before leaving for the airport at 1 pm to catch the flight back to Taipei. The staff will take care of their luggage and other boarding procedures while they are at the Autograph session.

Approximately around 11 am, the four guys finally appeared. Perhaps because it was morning, they seemed to be well-rested, in good spirits and with smiles on their faces. Arron, the youngest, and also the one who looked most mischievous among the four said as soon as he saw me: [Hi! Good morning, I am Arron. This is Chun (introducing Wu Chun), how are you?” Although I replied with: [I’m fine], I was actually a bit stunned. I asked the promotion staff next to me in Cantonese: [What’s wrong with your friend?] He then taught me to use Cantonese to “stun” them back because they could only understand but they could not speak it. This method really worked as Arron said in resignation: [I don’t know how to speak Cantonese!]

I thought the interview could officially start but Arron had absolutely no intention of reining in his playfulness. He continued his mischief and asked me: [Are you Maggie?] and immediately turned around and introduced me to Wu Chun: [This is Maggie.] I couldn’t help but blurted: [No, I’m not Maggie, my name is Olivia.] Arron immediately said in a pseudo-serious tone: [Hi Olivia, nice to meet you.] which led into momentary laughter from the others. After playing for a while, Arron finally settled down (the other three were quite quiet and did not join him in his mischief). Finally, the interview could start, I thought to myself.

I didn’t know if I should find it to be funny or irritable but this type of opening dialog was pretty original.

The Malaysia stop of the Fahrenheit’s Fantasy Concert Tour will take place on November 15 at the National Sports Arena in Bakit Jalil. Malaysian fans had been anticipating this concert for a long time. They sure will be coming to the concert in high excitement. Fans loved to watch Fahrenheit, but do they know whose concert Fahrenheit wanted to watch the most? Of all the concerts, which singer’s concert would they considered as the best? Also, who would they most wish to come to their concert? Let these four handsome guys provide the answers for you!

Let’s chat a bit about the most fascinating concert that you have seen.

Chun: Michael Jackson. That year, the king of Brunei invited him to hold a concert. It was a free concert. I feel that for a concert that the audience didn’t need to pay and the performance could still be so good, it really was very fascinating.

Arron: I feel it is MayDay. Their rock music can interact with the audience and gives the feeling of blood boiling. What they are most amazing is that they have intimate interactions on stage with those in the audience. I went to their concerts twice in Taiwan!

Jiro: The most fascinating is Linkin Park. I feel that they are incredible. Their live performance could sound exactly like the CD. I personally like rock bands. Even though they did not have much flowery physical movements but the music in their souls can stir the audience of over 40,000 people. I was very impressed by it.

Calvin: Earlier this year, I watched the Beyonce concert. It was a 2-hour performance. The flow of the program was tightly arranged. She did not say much, only concentrated in singing. And the whole team was very professional, making the audience watching the performance without blinking.

Whose concert would they most want to see?

Chun: I really want to see Celin Dion. Last time when I was at Las Vegas, I really wanted to get tickets but her shows were all sold out so I didn’t get to see it. Later, I watched the concert DVD. Wow, it was truly amazing. I still regret not able to get tickets that time.

Arron: I want to see Radiohead. My friend saw the concert they held in Japan earlier. He said it was really worth seeing. It is easy to resonate with their music. If they come to Taiwan, I definitely would see it.

Jiro: I still want to see Michael Jackson. I remembered his concert when I was in high school, was the first time I bought tickets to see a concert. His songs and dances were really very good. He was very successful in having the audience move along with him. Since there had not been any news of him performing in so many years, there is some anticipation to wanting to see it again.

Calvin: I want to see 50 Cent. Earlier he was performing in Taiwan but because I was working and had to give it a miss. I also really want to see 50 Cent and Eminem perform together, because I really like the feel of hip-hop and rap performances. I am sure they would create a very exciting atmosphere.

Chun interrupted: It’s always like that. Whenever we really want to watch someone’s performance, typically they don’t sing or can’t sing anymore. I hope our fans would not hold this type of attitude towards Fahrenheit later. (The other three laughingly agreed.)

In your fantasy, who would you most wish to come to your concert?

Chun: I hope to see Michael Jordan demonstrating “dunking” at the concert. I had always wanted to be a basketball player but I am not tall enough. So I would only watch Jordan play on TV. If he appears in the Fahrenheit concert that would certainly create a uproar!

Arron: I wish to have Angelina Jolie come and see our concert. If she really does come, I wouldn’t mind if Brad Pitt accompanied her!

Jiro: I most wish to have the goddess of my dreams Kelly Chan to come. Even though she just newly married but if she appears, I would be excited even if I am just a member of the audience.

If you have a girlfriend, would you take her to watch a concert together?

Arron & Jiro: Of course! Definitely must share the experience with loved one.

Chun: Before when I was watching the Celine Dion concert DVD and at the part when she was singing the “Titanic” theme song {My Heart Will Go On}, I felt that if I brought my girlfriend with him, the atmosphere would definitely be very touching.

Have the four of you ever been to a concert together?

Arron: Yes, we have! The Fahrenheit concert! Hahaha~ (Everyone started laughing)

What is your expectations for the concert in Malaysia?

Jiro: A perfect performance.

Calvin: I hope the stage can be extended a bit more because the way the stage extended in the Hong Kong concert wasn’t bad. Usually there is always some distance between the concert stage and the audience but if the stage can be extended a bit more, it would allow better interactions with the audience.

Chun: The Malaysia concert is hold outdoor, so it better not rain!

Epilogue:

The interview ended with them writing, in all seriousness, a message to themselves regarding the concert. After they finished writing, my interview would be done. As everyone said goodbye, Arron did not call me “Maggie” again. Instead he called out with a laugh, “Bye bye Olivia”. As for Wu Chun who was next to him, when he found out that I am a reporter from the {Singapore Daily}, he smiled and said: [My home in Brunei also subscribes to the {Singapore Daily}.] The sincere attitude of Wu Chun, in comparison to the mischievousness of Arron, he was much more matured. As for Jiro and Calvin, their behavior that day was quite proper, just watching Arron being mischievous with a smile.

Meeting the challenge

The members of Taiwanese boy band Fahrenheit may be nursing injuries but they promise fans a rollicking good time at their Nov 15 concert
by Sharyn Yap

(from left) Chen, Yan, Wu and Wang of Fahrenheit.

JIRO Wang of Taiwanese boy band Fahrenheit had his fans worried when he arrived in a wheelchair for a press conference in Kuala Lumpur recently.

The band, comprising Wang, Wu Zun, Aaron Yan and Calvin Chen, was in town to plug its upcoming concert in Malaysia as part of The Fahrenheit Fantasy World Tour.

When the tour kicked off in Hongkong at the end of last month, all four sustained injuries of one kind or another.

But there’s nothing to worry about as Wang quickly put worries to rest by managing to walk up onto the stage under his own steam, saying that it was only to give his injured foot plenty of rest.

“At the moment, the less I use the leg, the better it would recover. And when the concert comes around, I would be able to give my fans a better performance.”

Although doctors have advised him to rest, Wang said he was unable to do that.

“Holding this concert tour is our dream. Especially since it has only just taken off, I can’t stop now. I want to have a perfect concert tour. Afterwards, I can have all the rest I need.”

Fortunately, doctors said his injury could sustain for another two months or so without problems.

“I’m still young, so, okay-lah.”

So far, it is all systems go for their Malaysian concert. The boys are prepared to wow their fans with six different image changes ranging from the futuristic to the comic and Broadway, as well as showing off their individual skills with Wu on the drums, Wang on the guitar, Yan at the piano and Chen on the beat box.

They are also planning a big surprise finale and a rocking party for all. But they stop short of baring it all, with the boys saying maybe just their backs or in open vests.

Fans at their Hongkong concert were apparently disappointed that the boys did not show off their bods. But Yan explained that would be impossible.

“Well, we do have this white outfit and after sweating a bit, it could be rather revealing,” chipped in Wu mischievously.

As for a guest artiste, the boys said they have not decided yet though Wu’s father might appear as an honoured guest among the audience.

“He attended our Hongkong concert and I see no reason why he wouldn’t come for the Malaysian bash as well,” Wu said. It appears his father has now become his biggest fan.

Besides preparing for their concert dates, Wu has also been busy doing promotions for his movie, Butterfly Lovers, in which he co-stars with Hongkong’s Charlene Choi. As such, he has hardly been home these days.

“I have only been in Taiwan for one day the past month,” he said. “Even my birthday (Oct 10) was spent in another country. When we get back to Taiwan after the concert tour and have the time, I will definitely collect [my presents] from [my teammates].”

Although it has been a tiring period, Wu said with promotional activities for the movie now over, he would be concentrating on his music.

First stop – the Malaysian concert date on Nov 15, at the National Stadium, Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur, followed by Singapore; and China, Japan, Korea and Thailand next year.

The Fahrenheit Fantasy World Tour Live in Malaysia is organised by Big Events. Tickets are priced at RM388, RM348, RM248, RM178, RM148, RM128 and RM88 (including RM3 Axcess fee). For details, call 03-7711 5000 or log on to www.axcess.com.my.
